About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for students and staff. The Custodian will be responsible for cleaning classrooms, restrooms, offices, and other school facilities, as well as performing minor repairs and groundskeeping duties as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

Previous custodial or maintenance experience.
Knowledge of basic building maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
Clean and disinfect restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the facility.
Wash windows, walls, and other surfaces as required.
Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks, such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and assembling furniture.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
Assist with setting up and taking down furniture for school events and activities.
Maintain cleanliness of school grounds, including sweeping walkways and picking up litter.
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
