About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and smooth function of its facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The position is described as an evening shift, listed as 4:30 pm–12:30 pm.

The Custodian performs routine cleaning and restocking, removes garbage, completes facility upkeep checklists, provides operational support as requested by the Executive Director, and reports completed activities and concerns.

Requirements

• No formal education is required.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
• Dignified and honest character that models recovery principles.
• If in recovery, at least one year of sustained sobriety is required.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and smooth function of the property and plant.
• Perform routine custodial duties, including cleaning, restocking, and removing garbage.
• Provide consistent operational support as required by the Executive Director.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists to ensure the facility is clean and maintained.
• Report completed activities and escalate concerns to the Executive Director.
