About The Position

ENTEK is seeking a dedicated Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming workplace. As a member of the facilities team, the Custodian performs routine cleaning and upkeep throughout offices, restrooms, common spaces, and selected shop areas; handles deeper cleaning tasks; and performs minor routine and preventative maintenance. The role includes notifying management of major repair needs and following cleaning-chemical safety directions and warnings. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. This is an active position involving extensive time on one’s feet and movement between buildings. Some work may be outdoors in varying weather conditions, and duties may involve working around or handling biohazardous materials. ENTEK provides personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

Custodial or janitorial experience.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Effective English communication skills.
Reliable and consistent attendance during scheduled shifts.
Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic.
Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow written and verbal instructions.
Team-oriented mindset and professional demeanor when interacting with coworkers, customers, and vendors.
Understanding of cleaning chemicals and compounds, including how to read and follow safety directions and warnings.
Satisfactory results from a pre-employment fit-for-duty screen and drug screen.
Satisfactory results from a pre-employment background check.
Ability to perform the listed physical activities, including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, balancing, climbing ladders or step stools, pushing, pulling, and handling materials and equipment.
Ability to regularly lift or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Experience working in an environment with a large footprint.
Experience using floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners.
Familiarity with industrial or commercial cleaning practices.
Knowledge of workplace safety standards such as OSHA guidelines.
Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and scrub floors and surfaces in offices, restrooms, common spaces, and selected shop areas.
Damp-wipe furniture.
Clean and restock restrooms, kitchenettes, and lunchrooms.
Clean microwaves and refrigerators in lunchrooms and breakrooms.
Empty trash and recycling containers and keep workspaces clean and organized.
Wash windows, screens, doors, doorframes, and walls.
Steam-clean carpets as needed and clean overhead fixtures.
Perform minor routine and preventative maintenance tasks.
Notify management of major repair needs.
Follow safety directions and warnings for cleaning chemicals and compounds.
