About The Position

The Custodian maintains appropriate sanitation in and around company facilities while following regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures. The role performs cleaning and general maintenance throughout the facility, including warehouse and freezer areas, and helps keep the grounds free of debris. The custodian may also maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, and work with machinery and material-handling equipment.

The schedule is Sunday, 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., and Monday–Thursday, 12:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. The position may involve work in cold storage temperatures as low as -20°F/-25°C or dry storage temperatures up to 100°F/37°C while wearing company-provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear. The role may require a flexible schedule and weekends if needed, and may involve varying noise levels, including loud conditions.

Requirements

• Ability to operate floor-cleaning equipment and pallet jacks.
• Comfort handling cleaning chemicals.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to understand instructions in the country’s official language or as defined by Lineage Logistics.
• Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20°F/-25°C in cold storage sites or up to 100°F/37°C in dry storage sites while wearing company-provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs./9 kgs.; required weight may be greater depending on the facility.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and shift, including weekends if needed.
• Comfort working with varying noise levels, which can at times be loud.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, breakrooms, and office spaces.
• Wash and sweep inside the facility and pick up discarded trash.
• Perform general maintenance throughout the facility, including warehouse and freezer areas.
• Remove ice and pick up pieces of pallets.
• Keep grounds clean and free of debris.
• Ensure cleaning materials and equipment are in good working condition and are properly secured after use.
• Maintain cleaning-material stock levels by performing routine stock checks.
• Work with other machinery and material-handling equipment.
