About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas. The role performs janitorial work, follows daily schedules and safety procedures, and maintains assigned areas and cleaning equipment. Responsibilities also include handling special and hazardous waste and supporting the shift lead and team as needed. A valid driver’s license may be required based on business needs, as the position may involve travel to work locations, customer sites, or company facilities. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. The role works Tuesday through Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Compensation is $15–$16 per hour. Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Three to six months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, and willingness to share that knowledge with the team.
Knowledge of cleaning equipment upkeep and care.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive for work must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
Completion of all safety and task training certification.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all tasks listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship, receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain its upkeep and care.
Maintain the daily cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas and keep the work area clean.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Follow safety rules, protocols, company procedures, policies, and other rules; use proper personal protective equipment and stop at-risk behavior.
Work with other employees, perform repetitive tasks, and fill in during staff shortages.
Support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Take direction and respond to supervision; communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, and understand customer service and satisfaction.
Drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities if required for the position.
Understand reporting systems and the work environment.
Complete required safety and task training and certifications.
