About The Position

Established in 1975 by an act of the Virginia General Assembly, the Capital Region Airport Commission owns and operates Richmond International Airport (RIC). The Commission directs the growth, operation and business activities of RIC and works tirelessly to ensure it continues to be an affordable option for local, regional, and out-of-state travelers. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and sanitary environment of the Airport Terminal, Commission offices, restrooms, and public areas.

Requirements

Must 18 years of age or older
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written
Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision
Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs. and transport a minimum of 50 lbs. by cart

Nice To Haves

High school education and/or GED equivalent is preferred
Previous janitorial experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Maintains all types of flooring surfaces, i.e., ceramic, vinyl floor tile and carpet using various types of manual and automated cleaning processes including vacuuming, dust mopping, trash removal, and wet mopping.
Clean and maintain Commission offices and all public areas including but not limited to restrooms, passenger ready areas, conference rooms, counters, etc. by dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.
Clean and maintain areas outside the Terminal Building including sidewalks, breezeways, etc. by picking up and removing trash.
Clean and maintain glass surfaces of the Terminal Building and other Commission owned buildings.
