About The Position

Performs entry-level custodial work cleaning and caring for county buildings and premises and maintaining custodial equipment. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED).
• Must have an automobile and current liability insurance for work-related travel.
• Must have a current valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Must be able to be insured by the County’s insurance carrier.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures.
• Skill in the use of custodial materials and chemicals and in the operation of custodial equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in custodial work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, dust, spray wax, and strip floors.
• Maintain restrooms, replenish supplies, and apply cleaning chemicals as appropriate.
• Perform carpet maintenance.
• Clean office furniture, walls, windows, and floors, and empty trash.
• Inspect buildings for cleanliness and report needed repairs as appropriate.
• Perform related work as assigned.
