About The Position

The Custodian I provides general cleaning in assigned areas, including offices, common areas, and laboratories. The role also supports the materials recycling program and completes special cleaning assignments as instructed by the night supervisor. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday, 20 hours per week, from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the equipment and cleaning chemicals necessary to perform assigned work.
• Ability to perform medium work: exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Ability to stoop and reach.
• Ability to occasionally move between work sites and within the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other items.
• Ability to communicate frequently with others.
• Ability to work in a biohazard laboratory environment and use personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash.
• Vacuum carpets.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Disinfect restrooms and drinking fountains.
• Dust office areas, common areas, and laboratories.
• Use the equipment and cleaning chemicals necessary to perform assigned work.
• Assist in the materials recycling program.
• Complete special cleaning assignments as instructed by the night supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with ARUP policies and procedures.
