About The Position

The Custodian I is responsible for keeping vessel and pavilion areas clean. The role involves sweeping, mopping, polishing, scrubbing, dusting, vacuuming, collecting and removing trash, and cleaning and disinfecting restrooms. The custodian uses cleaning equipment and chemicals, replenishes restroom supplies, and performs other duties as directed by a supervisor or manager. The work includes extensive walking and climbing and working from a ten-foot ladder.

Requirements

Ability to lift 25 pounds.
Understanding of the importance of customer service.
Ability to operate the listed cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness of vessel and pavilion areas.
Sweep, mop, polish, clean, scrub, dust, and vacuum surfaces; collect trash.
Operate cleaning equipment, including extractors, stripping and buffing machines, backpack vacuums, walk-behind vacuums, and traditional vacuum cleaners.
Use a variety of cleaning chemicals.
Climb and work from a ten-foot ladder.
Walk extensively during working hours.
Remove large amounts of trash from garbage cans and empty mobile trash carts.
Clean and disinfect restrooms and fixtures, and replenish towels, soap, and other supplies as needed.
Wash walls, doors, windows, mirrors, and equipment.
Perform miscellaneous related duties as directed by a supervisor or manager.
