About The Position

This position is responsible for custodial maintenance of buildings and facilities at Northeastern State University’s Broken Arrow campus. The work consists of directly related custodial duties in assigned university buildings. Success in the position results in safe and well-maintained buildings. The Custodial Services Manager assigns work through somewhat general instructions and spot-checks completed work for compliance, accuracy, and the propriety of results. The position has no supervisory or management responsibilities.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties, usually associated with completing an apprenticeship or internship or having held a similar position for one to two years.
• Possess or be able to readily obtain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
• Be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Newly hired employees must provide an original social security card during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and detail restrooms and refill dispensers.
• Dust and wipe furniture and fixtures.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; strip, clean, wax, and buff floors.
• Empty and clean trash receptacles.
• Clean classrooms and laboratories.
• Load and unload supplies and stock and organize storage areas.
• Clean spills and broken glass.
• Move furniture.
• Assist with setting up for special events.
• Report maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
