About The Position

The Custodian and Cart Attendant performs general maintenance and cleaning duties, maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role gathers carts and flatbeds from the parking lot and returns them to the club entrance, ensuring members have ready access. It also includes keeping club interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, and cart corrals clean and orderly; operating cleaning and materials-handling equipment safely; restocking supplies; and performing minor building repairs. The position requires regular, predictable, full attendance and may include duties in other departments as needed.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas; applicants may be under 18 for parking-lot cart functions.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.
• Able to perform physical duties that may include bending, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, stooping, and climbing ladders or step stools.
• Frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds; heavier or awkward objects over 50 pounds may need to be moved with assistance.
• Use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.
• Work indoors and outdoors and tolerate exposure to outdoor weather, cleaning agents, and occasional extreme temperatures in freezers and coolers.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
• Clean all areas of the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance; remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and club exterior.
• Keep carts stocked at the entrance, clean and in working order, and remove carts that are unsuitable for use.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance duties such as mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize club maintenance and cleaning duties efficiently.
• Safely operate the floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler according to established safety standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep receiving-dock supply areas and maintenance closets clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be required.
• Follow club policies and procedures and complete other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Deliver service excellence, address and deescalate member concerns, and contribute to a safe, positive, inclusive, and respectful environment.
• Support daily GOLD Member and Club Standards, including keeping the club clean and organized, maintaining signage, and executing stocking and promotional plans.
