About The Position

This intermediate, individual-contributor position keeps assigned areas clean, sanitized, and orderly to eliminate distractions safely and efficiently. The role works under general supervision and handles moderately complex tasks and issues, referring more complicated matters to higher-level staff. It may include grounds work, special events, other manual labor, and leadership, coaching, or mentoring of others. The work may take place in damp, dusty, or dirty areas and may involve cleaning solvents and chemicals. On-call responsibilities may be required, and the employee may be assigned executive VIP responsibilities. The position is temporary and part-time for a six-month fixed term at the Mesa Arizona Temple. Church employees use their talents to further the Church’s work. Only Church members who are worthy of a temple recommend qualify for employment. Requirements

Certify in the use of any required equipment, including sweepers, buffers, lifts, carpet-cleaning machinery, and high-rise power washers.
Understand basic instructions, complete basic tasks, and handle basic issues and problems.
Independently lift and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally team-lift and position objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
Be able to stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
Be able to work from ladders, scaffolds, and mechanical lifts for extended periods.
Be able to work with commercial-grade cleaners and chemicals and comply with all regulations for chemical handling.
Work professionally with others and independently without constant supervision; maintain a positive attitude and work as part of a team.
Understand English for general communication, video training, building security, and safety; understand verbal and written instructions and ask clarifying questions as needed.
Be a Church member worthy of a temple recommend to qualify for employment.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of the subject matter; typically, two years of related work experience is preferred.
Experience with project work or executive cleaning.
May be required to work outside in all seasons, temperatures, and types of weather.
May require a valid driver's license.
May be required to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Clean offices, restrooms, public areas, fixtures, furniture, equipment, and other assigned areas.
Operate mechanized cleaning equipment, including vacuums, polishers, buffers, scrubbers, sweepers, power washers, and extraction equipment.
Operate balers, shredders, aerial lifts, and forklifts.
Clean windows and building exteriors.
Clean carpets, rugs, upholstery, and drapes.
Sanitize areas, furnishings, and fixtures as instructed.
Wet- or damp-mop floors; dust or polish furnishings, light fixtures, window sills, wood paneling, and other surfaces.
Dispose of trash, waste, and other materials; restock supplies.
Perform emergency cleanups, including floods, bodily fluids, and spills.
Move furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment.
Remove leaves or snow.
Perform on-call duties as required and, if assigned, executive VIP cleaning responsibilities.
Report safety or security issues and needed repairs.
Perform other assigned duties and attend meetings.
May help with grounds, special events, or other manual labor.
