About The Position

This intermediate, individual-contributor role keeps assigned areas clean, sanitized, and orderly in a safe and efficient manner to eliminate distractions. The position may also support groundskeeping, special events, or other manual labor duties. Work is performed under general supervision, with self-directed handling of moderately complex issues and referral of more complicated issues to higher-level staff. The position may provide leadership, coaching, or mentoring to others. Work may take place in damp, dusty, or dirty areas and may involve cleaning solvents and chemicals. On-call responsibilities may be required, and the employee may be assigned executive VIP responsibilities. Church employees use their talents and abilities to further the Church’s work. Requirements

Must certify in the use of any needed equipment, such as sweepers, buffers, lifts, carpet-cleaning machinery, and high-rise power washers.
Ability to understand basic instructions, complete basic tasks, and handle basic issues and problems.
Ability to independently lift and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally team-lift and position objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and mechanical lifts for extended periods.
Ability to work with commercial-grade cleaners and chemicals and comply with all regulations for handling chemicals.
Ability to work professionally with others and alone without constant supervision.
Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to understand English for general communication, video training, building security, and safety; understand verbal and written instructions; and ask clarifying questions as needed.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of the subject matter; typically, two years of related work experience is preferred.
Experience with project work or executive cleaning.
May be required to work outside in all seasons, temperatures, and types of weather.
May require a valid driver's license.
May be required to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Clean offices, restrooms, public areas, fixtures, furniture, and equipment as instructed.
Operate mechanized cleaning equipment, including vacuums, polishers, buffers, scrubbers, sweepers, power washers, and extraction equipment.
Operate balers, shredders, aerial lifts, and forklifts.
Clean windows and building exteriors.
Clean carpets, rugs, upholstery, and drapes.
Sanitize areas, furnishings, and fixtures as instructed.
Wet- or damp-mop floors.
Dust or polish furnishings, light fixtures, window sills, wood paneling, and similar surfaces.
Dispose of trash, waste, and other materials.
Perform emergency cleanups, including floods, bodily fluids, and spills.
Restock supplies.
Move furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment.
Remove leaves or snow.
Report safety or security issues and needed repairs.
Perform other duties and attend meetings as assigned.
May assist with grounds, special events, or other manual labor duties.
May perform on-call duties or executive VIP responsibilities.
