• Work experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person. This experience may include cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, offices, or public areas; and performing tasks such as mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, or buffing.
• Custodial or housekeeping work experience in a hospital, nursing home, correctional facility, fast food facility, restaurant, cafeteria, or school
• Work experience collecting and disposing of infectious waste into proper storage areas
• Work experience removing snow, trash, and debris from sidewalks and building entrance ways
• Work experience using and mixing chemicals or solvents
• Work experience using manual or power equipment to mop, scrub, strip, wax, and buff floors
• Work experience performing tasks such as operating a floor scrubbing machine, using ladders to clean high areas, proper handling of cleaning chemicals, interacting with patients or residents, snow removal from walkways and entrances, replacing light bulbs, cleaning furniture, mopping (wet or dry), and scrubbing

Responsibilities

• Mop, dust, scrub, wash, polish, and vacuum floors, furniture, walls, radiators, carpets, and mats
• Empty and clean receptacles, remove trash and soiled linen, and separate recyclable materials
• Prepare, deliver, disinfect, and organize linen carts, tubs, racks, tablecloths, napkins, and clothing items
• Use manual and mechanical custodial equipment by following instructions and safe techniques
• Clean dining areas, tables, chairs, floors, window sills, and designated kitchen items
• Clean assistive devices, mattresses, lifts, chairs, wheelchairs, curtains, and related equipment
