Automotive Mechanic - South Mountain Restoration Center
About The Position
As an Automotive Mechanic with the Department of Human Services (DHS), South Mountain Restoration Center, you will take on a key role in maintaining the fleet that keeps the facility moving. This position gives you the opportunity to apply your mechanical expertise to a wide range of vehicles, equipment, and emergency generators. Requirements
- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
- Possess of a valid Class C Driver's License.
- Possess a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania State Inspection Mechanic certificate.
- Meet the PA residency requirement.
- Able to perform essential job functions.
Responsibilities
- Perform major and minor repairs on cars, trucks, tractors, generators, and related equipment
- Maintain and inspect vehicles for compliance with state inspection codes
- Repair transmissions, brakes, clutches, alignments, and body components as needed
- Keep accurate service records for all vehicles and equipment
- Dispense gasoline, diesel fuel, and oil for equipment
- Complete welding and brazing work when required
