About The Position

West Chester University of Pennsylvania’s Custodial Services Department is hiring a Custodial Team Lead. The position delegates authority to prioritize work within an assigned area to maintain departmental work standards, work assignments, cleaning policies, and procedure goals and objectives. The role requires making decisions based on a full knowledge of applicable guidelines; deviations must be reported to or approved by a supervisor or management. The successful candidate values teamwork and collaboration, is dependable, takes initiative, solves problems effectively, communicates clearly, and supports organizational change. As a member of the Facilities Divisional staff, this is an essential position. Essential employees must remain at or report to work during partial or full-day University closings due to hazardous road conditions, emergency circumstances, or other reasons.

Requirements

One year as a Custodial Worker 1 (commonwealth title), or one year of experience performing custodial work.
Knowledge of materials, methods, and practices used in custodial work.
Knowledge of aseptic and sanitation materials hazards and safety guidelines.
Ability to read and understand written materials.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
