About The Position

The role is classified as an Operations Lead, is represented by LiUNA 483, and is eligible for overtime. The position works throughout the Oregon Zoo in indoor and outdoor settings, including public spaces, animal areas, restrooms, service roads, food-service areas, confined spaces, and elevated locations. Employees must consistently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle up to 100 pounds using safe work practices, with or without reasonable accommodation. Exposure may include chemicals, bodily fluids, biohazards, contaminated materials, dust, grease, wastewater, sharp objects, noise, vibration, moving machinery, vehicles, and powered equipment. Required PPE must be used when applicable. The full hourly pay range is $24.64 to $31.43; the likely appointment range is $24.64 to $29.62 unless qualifications justify a higher step under Metro’s pay equity and internal equity review. The position requires a valid driver’s license and insurability by Metro’s carrier. Blood Borne Pathogen Training, Emergency and Safety Procedures Training, HAZMAT Awareness Level Training, and Forklift Certification must be obtained within 60 days of starting work.
