About The Position

Venesco, LLC is looking for a Curriculum Developer to provide support services for the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, Department of Occupational and Environmental Health, Force Development Division (USAFSAM/OED). This role involves designing, drafting, and validating distance learning and in-residence courses, and supporting Utilization and Training Workshop activities and associated Career Field Education and Training Plan development and validation. The technical training materials cover subjects such as health risk assessment, occupational and environmental health site assessment, radiological health, Bioenvironmental Engineering (BE) response operations, and other related subjects. The contractor personnel will interface with students, USAFSAM staff, 711th HPW and USAF Surgeon General Staff. All contractor personnel must be technically and professionally qualified in the Air Force Instructional Systems Development (ISD) process and have a solid working knowledge of the Air Force’s Bioenvironmental Engineering career field. The 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW) is a consolidation of human performance research, education, and consultation under a single organization, established under the Air Force Research Laboratory, comprising the Human Effectiveness Directorate (RH) and the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM).

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of equivalent work experience in the Bioenvironmental Engineering career field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting Health Risk Assessments and managing/implementing Occupational and Environmental Health Programs in the Department of Defense, along with an in-depth knowledge of industry wide best practices in industrial hygiene.
Experience developing training materials using a formal Instructional System Design model, such as ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate).
Strong data analytical skills and experience using related software such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Blackboard, or other similar tools to identify and assess OEH data.
Typing skills and a working knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office to include, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience communicating with senior Air Force or DoD leaders to advocate courses of action to improve program performance and/or data quality.
Strong filing and organizational skills to maintain and update files and records.
Ability to work/perform independently.
A signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place with their company based on the potential access to confidential, proprietary, and/or sensitive information. NDA shall be provided to the Government Program Manager by start of performance. All products and electronic files resulting from this contract effort will become the property of the United States Air Force (USAF).

Responsibilities

Create and update Career Development Courses (CDCs) and Qualification Training Packages (QTPs) or equivalent.
Use an instructional systems development approach in the planning, application, design, and maintenance of formal training material.
Accurately identify the objective and knowledge levels in the Career Field Education and Training Plan/Specialty Training Standard (CFETP/STS).
Analyze and validate course content and curriculum for assigned courses and recommend effective formal training strategies for the CDCs.
Design, review, and revise test items as necessary to meet instructional objectives regarding the CDCs.
Ensure CDCs are consistent with USAF instructional philosophy, policy, operational need, and mission strategic goals outlined in DAFH 36-2675, Information for Designers of Instructional Systems, DAFI 36-2670 Total Force Development; Guide for Authors: Standards for Course Development.
Respond to external and internal customer needs/requests as applicable, which may require researching instructional materials and regulations or contacting other subject matter experts (SMEs) to obtain and disseminate proper and accurate information in regard to the CDCs/QTPs. Provide initial update to requests within three (3) duty days.
Review and edit course content to include style, format, and emphasis of CDC and QTP instructional materials to meet educational standards. Analyze the learning objectives and corresponding measurement instruments to ensure currency and effective measurement of the objectives that are also supported by the CDC material content. Verify reliability, validity, and cut-off scores through complete and comprehensive analysis of the test.
Provide training product development in support of additional courses to include coordinating and/or reviewing instructional material with Instructional Systems Specialists (ISS), drafting or co-drafting materials for inclusion in Specialty/Course Training Standards, Study Guide/Workbooks, Plans of Instruction, presentation materials or other learning aids, and measurement devices (written tests, progress checks, etc.) for Bioenvironmental Engineer courses.
Work closely with assigned SMEs, Division-level leadership, and ISS personnel to ensure training curriculum aligns with stipulated USAF requirements and career field needs.
Perform required administrative activities including, but not limited to, correcting grammar, spelling, syntax, and formatting to accurately prepare, review, and edit written curriculum.
Maintain and update files and records.
Assist with additional division projects to include development of office continuity documents, supporting Utilization and Training Workshops by recording/validating discussions and collating final minutes, and processing Career Field Education and Training documents.
Create training plans and conduct or provide guidance in conducting the validation phase of the ISD process to ensure effectiveness in meeting course objectives and required proficiency levels for newly implemented courses.
Apply all components of the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) Instructional System Design model.
Utilize modeling software tools provided by the government as necessary.
Attend all meetings as requested.
Analyze student feedback from end-of-course evaluations and field surveys to assess the effectiveness of training materials. Provide written recommendations to the applicable USAFSAM/OED for improving the courseware using ISD principles.
