About The Position

The Culinary Services Cook plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner. The role supports the Culinary Services Director in maintaining an efficient Dining Services department and helps ensure residents receive efficient meal service, good customer service, and clean dining and kitchen areas. The cook also cleans work areas, pots, and equipment after preparation and service and stores leftovers properly.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Food Service Sanitation Certificate as required by state or local requirements.
Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
Ability to read and understand recipes.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to work flexible shifts.
Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing.

Nice To Haves

Some supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and serve attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
Assist the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
Prepare and serve meals for assigned shifts.
Maintain dining-service standards, including efficient meal delivery, customer service, and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
Clean the work area, pots, and equipment after preparation and service.
Ensure leftovers are covered, labeled, dated, and stored in the proper place.
