About The Position

The Culinary Services Cook at The Amberleigh, a Sonida Senior Living community in Williamsville, New York, prepares and serves attractive, nutritious meals for residents in an independent living, assisted living, and memory care community. The cook supports the Culinary Services Director in maintaining an organized and efficient dining services department and ensures meal service, customer service, and dining and kitchen cleanliness standards are maintained. The role also includes cleaning the work area, pots, and equipment, and properly covering, labeling, dating, and storing leftovers.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Possess a Food Service Sanitation Certificate as required by state or local requirements.
• Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Ability to read and understand recipes.
• Ability to work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time, and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing.

Nice To Haves

• Some supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and serve attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assist the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepare and serve meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintain dining services standards, including efficient meal delivery, customer service, and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean the work area, pots, and equipment after preparation and service.
• Ensure leftovers are covered, labeled, dated, and stored in the proper place.
