About The Position

The Culinary Services Cook plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner. The role assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining an efficient Dining Services department and helps ensure residents receive prompt meal service, good customer service, and a clean dining room and kitchen. The cook also cleans work areas, pots, and equipment after preparation and service, and ensures leftovers are properly covered, labeled, dated, and stored.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Possess a Food Service Sanitation Certificate as required by state or local regulations.
Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
Ability to read and understand recipes.
Ability to work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at once, and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing.

Nice To Haves

Some supervisory experience preferred.

Prepare and serve meals for assigned shifts.
Maintain dining-service standards, including efficient meal delivery, customer service, and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
Clean work areas, pots, and equipment after preparation and service.
Cover, label, date, and properly store leftovers.
