About The Position

The Culinary Services Cook works in the Dining Services department at The Waterford at Ironbridge, an independent living retirement community in Springfield, Missouri. The cook plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner, and assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining an efficient department. The role also includes maintaining meal-service standards, customer service, and cleanliness in the dining room and kitchen.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate as required by state or local regulations.
• Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Ability to read and understand recipes.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work flexible shifts.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing.

Nice To Haves

• Some supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and serve attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assist the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepare and serve meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintain dining-service standards, including efficient meal delivery, customer service, and dining room and kitchen cleanliness.
• Clean the work area, pots, and equipment after preparation and service.
• Cover, label, date, and store leftovers in the proper place.
