About The Position
The Server is responsible for setting up, cleaning, and breaking down the dining room or workstation while providing quality customer service each day. The role helps maintain the dietary department in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner and follows applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing the facility. The Server works with residents, staff, and visitors; follows residents’ dietary restrictions and meal requirements; and uses and maintains kitchen equipment safely.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional conduct.
- Basic knowledge of diet types and kitchen equipment operation.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

- Previous experience in a food service or healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Set up and break down the dining room for each meal service, ensuring proper table settings and cleanliness.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and welcoming dining room for residents and visitors.
- Provide timely, professional customer service to residents, staff, and visitors and respond to their dining needs.
- Communicate courteously and professionally with management, staff, and residents.
- Understand and follow dietary restrictions, diet types, and consistencies so residents receive appropriate meals.
- Help ensure the dietary department follows federal, state, and local cleanliness and safety guidelines.
- Use kitchen equipment, including silverware, dishwashers, coffee pots, and food shredders, and clean and maintain it according to safety standards.
- Assist with safe operation of kitchen equipment and report issues to management.
- Follow HIPAA privacy regulations and maintain confidentiality for residents and staff.
- Attend mandatory in-services, meetings, and training sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
