About The Position

The Culinary Retail Food Assistant joins UW Health’s culinary team and helps ensure the right food is safely provided to the right customer at the right time. The role provides customer service to patients, families, staff, and visitors; supports meal service and short-order cooking; handles payment transactions; and maintains clean dishes, equipment, and work areas. The position is 100% FTE, 40 hours per week, with scheduled shifts from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Hours may vary based on departmental operational needs.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Food service and/or customer service experience.
ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, staff, and visitors.
Accurately set up meal service lines, portion food items, and serve meals.
Work as a short-order line cook.
Cashier and process payment transactions efficiently and accurately in a professional manner.
Sanitize dishes, cookware, equipment, and the work environment.
