About The Position

Join UW Health's culinary team at University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. The Culinary Retail Assistant helps ensure the right food is safely provided to the right customer at the right time. The role provides customer service to patients, families, staff, and visitors; supports meal service and short-order cooking; processes payments; and sanitizes dishes, cookware, equipment, and the work environment. This position is listed as 100% FTE and works Wednesday through Saturday from 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM. Some holidays and weekends are required, and hours may vary based on departmental operational needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Food service and/or customer service experience preferred.
ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, staff, and visitors.
Set up meal service lines accurately, portion food items, and serve meals.
Work as a short-order line cook.
Cashier and process payments efficiently and accurately in a professional manner.
Sanitize dishes, cookware, equipment, and the environment.
