About The Position

The Culinary Assistant is responsible for dining room and to-go meal service to senior living residents at the Pillars of Prospect Park, a senior living community managed by Ebenezer in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The role serves residents in independent living, assisted living, and memory care. The position is part-time, scheduled for 28 hours every two weeks from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The block schedule is Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Week 1, and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday in Week 2.

Requirements

Less than 1 year of experience.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma.
1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

Serve meals and ensure the dining area is clean and inviting.
Follow meal-serving schedules and procedures.
Offer residents meal choices and meet their specific dietary needs.
Use proper safety and sanitation techniques.
Follow dining room cleaning schedules and procedures.
Follow proper dining room setup procedures.
Follow proper workflow to stay on task.
Learn and become proficient with the EMenu System and restaurant-style service.
Wash, sanitize, and put away all dishes, including flatware and drinkware, before the end of the shift.
Promote positive resident relations and satisfaction.
Welcome residents and initiate conversation.
Accommodate resident requests, such as food substitutions and seating changes.
Listen to complaints and respond appropriately; refer issues to the Executive Director and Culinary Director as appropriate.
