About The Position

The Level 1 Enrichment Teacher collaborates with other teachers to implement and manage culinary-based educational enrichment programs and cooking classes. The role supports instruction, prepares materials, and provides individualized attention to students, helping create an engaging learning environment focused on cooking and culinary arts. It may suit aspiring teachers, education majors, youth program leaders, camp counselors, coaches, and others who enjoy helping children learn through hands-on experiences. This is an active classroom leadership role, not simply an assistant position. Teachers help manage student engagement, behavior, lesson execution, and overall classroom success. They create a positive, structured environment where students can safely explore cooking, build confidence, and develop life skills. The work takes place in fast-paced, interactive classrooms and requires dependability, adaptability, initiative, and comfort leading groups of children. The position requires after-school availability, typically between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Class sessions vary from two to six hours per day depending on location, and teachers must commit to a consistent weekly schedule throughout the semester. Schedules may change seasonally. Compensation is $20 per hour, with opportunities to advance to Level II and Level III Teacher positions based on performance and readiness. The role may include other related duties as assigned.
