About The Position

The Seasonal Salad Bar Culinary Assistant performs food preparation, cooking, and customer service tasks, and may assist in other department areas such as BBQ and Pizza. The role includes setting up and maintaining the buffet, stocking and rotating food and supplies, packaging finished products, and following health, sanitation, and safety regulations. The position is seasonal and hourly, with an estimated pay range of $18.25 to $21.38 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Training lasts two weeks.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Safely use or operate knives, knife sharpeners, scalers, scales, and wrapping machines.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good oral communication skills.
• Able to frequently walk, stand, and reach; occasionally pull, push, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to work with frequent exposure to grease, oil, and extreme heat, and occasional exposure to smoke, noise, and weather.

Responsibilities

• Set up the buffet according to established standards.
• Ensure buffet food items are properly signed.
• Refill and rotate buffet food as required.
• Wipe down and clean the buffet as needed.
• Stock supplies for the hot and cold bar.
• Check food temperatures every two hours and document them in a temperature log.
• Maintain, fill, and rotate products on display while monitoring dates.
• Package finished products.
• Follow health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Assist with other duties as assigned, including work in areas such as BBQ and Pizza.
• Greet customers with a friendly, positive attitude and help ensure they feel welcome.
• Collaborate with team members and support store operations.
