About The Position

The National Logistics Account Manager ensures the company can provide truckload coverage for customer-awarded freight while identifying additional opportunities. The role supports the growth and retention of dedicated opportunities, with responsibilities across direct and extended functions that help maintain competitive service and protect the integrity of company services. The position is located in Coopersville, Michigan.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or transportation operations.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel functions.
Ability to handle high volumes of inbound and outbound email and understand capacity and network.
Strong organization and communication skills, including for multiple-stop deliveries.
Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities.
Skills in critical thinking, root cause identification, problem solving, goal setting, KPI monitoring, customer service, business solicitation, negotiation, relationship building, scheduling, project management, data analysis, effective communication, and teamwork.

Nice To Haves

Ability to service multi-million-dollar accounts and support new and existing sales opportunities.
Expertise in client-specific KPI contract details and awards.
Some familiarity with the AS/400 operating system.

Responsibilities

Serve as the single point of contact for assigned customers and build relationships.
Work with internal departments, including analyst teams, to balance capacity and freight.
Solicit additional freight opportunities to eliminate empty miles when necessary.
Research and attempt to resolve service issues daily.
Track and trace shipments and provide superior service, targeting on-time performance of 95% or better.
Relay excess load availability to Brokerage and Rail divisions.
Review EDI data for accuracy before releasing verifications to customers.
Closely oversee internal activities that affect service obligations.
Maintain key carrier performance indicators.
Handle customer requests, including last-minute requests arising within supply chain delivery timelines.
Manage bookings and resolve delayed pickups or deliveries, billing issues, and related matters.
