About The Position

This position is responsible for handling the incoming raw material, housekeeping duties and packaging of product. This role involves operating specific equipment, documenting production details, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the process. The Cryo Laborer will work closely with supervisors and operators to execute procedures, assist with packaging, and contribute to process improvement initiatives within the Lean Manufacturing framework.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, preferred but not required.
  • Excellent mathematical, communication and computer skills.
  • Strongly detail oriented and be able to easily multi-task.
  • Should be able to independently initiate, prioritize, and perform or solve work problems and ultimately achieve work objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in written and verbal form with co-workers, supervisor and management.
  • Written skills are necessary to properly fill out paperwork.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member.
  • Follow written (Standard Operating Procedures -SOP’s, company memos & emails) and verbal Instructions.
  • Familiarity with industrial processing equipment and SOP led facilities.
  • Possess a strong work ethic to positively contribute to the company’s mission, vision, values and environmental and quality policies.
  • Must have a positive attitude, support co-workers to obtain desired objectives, and assist others in their contributions.
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time and access stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat occasionally to frequently.
  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (in required areas) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift (up to 50 lbs), carry (up to 44 lbs) occasionally to frequently within normal limits.
  • Ability to quickly process changes in the working environment.
  • Attentive to the task and own surroundings.
  • Must have a complete understanding of company’s policies, Employee Handbook, SOPs, QPs, EPs, HACCP and cGMP that pertain to their department to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and sustainability.

  • Examine documents, materials, and products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications.
  • Follow all SOPs in a given area.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the following equipment: Bale Breaker, Sealer: M-TEK, Lupulin Powder & Noble Weigh & Sealer, Pallet Jack, Box Machine, Packaging Line Equipment.
  • Provide a detailed breakdown of production related events which includes production rates, downtime and deviations in process.
  • Work with supervisors and operators on executing the Cryo startup procedure.
  • Assist on final label inspection prior to packaging product.
  • Ensure final packaging meets quality.
  • Record the weight, temperature and moisture of product throughout the process.
  • Assist in repackaging of product into various packaging sizes.
  • Ensure proper blending procedures are used to provide bale lot number visibility.
  • Review blends to ensure proper bales are allocated to lot.
  • Document daily process parameters which include density, temperature, post pellet mill fines, moisture and deviations from target weights.
  • Execute scheduled daily task assigned by supervisors.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve process efficiency and notify immediate supervisor of observations and recommendations.
  • Work in conjunction with Lean Manufacturing Principles in the Cryo Plant.
  • Lead and promote a safe and sanitary work environment within the facility and follow safety requirements.
  • Maintain sanitary and safe work environment and follow safety requirements.
  • May actively participate on company’s Safety Committee.
  • Ensure that company safety policies as well as federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations are observed.
  • Must have a complete understanding of company’s policies, Employee Handbook, SOPs, QPs, EPs, HACCP and cGMP that pertain to their department to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and sustainability.
  • Must adhere to all company policies.
