About The Position

Bison Transport is seeking a dedicated Cross-Border Long Haul Class 1/AZ Driver. This role involves being on the road for 7 to 14 days at a time, averaging 10,000 to 12,000 miles per month, and being available for dispatch 24 days a month. Drivers will perform resets on the road as required and operate on an open-board system for Canada/U.S. long-haul routes. Freight can depart from any Bison location into the lower 48 states, and northbound freight can go into any Canadian Province or Territory. The position requires the ability to drive to Alaska year-round and to drive in B.C., including Highway 1 and Highway 3, year-round. Additional work may be available upon request. Flexible schedules are required, including weekend departures and regional freight. Drivers must be able to haul all commodities, including meat and alcohol. An assigned unit will be provided.

Requirements

• Company Driver with 24 months tractor-trailer experience.
• Valid Class 1/AZ license.
• U.S. qualified.
• Minimum of 6 months U.S. driving experience.
• Minimum of 6 months B.C. Mountain experience.
• Ability to work weekends.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
• Reliable, flexible, and punctual.
• Strong communication skills.
• Values safety.
• Registered with the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Be on the road for 7 to 14 days at a time.
• Average 10,000 to 12,000 miles per month.
• Be available for dispatch 24 days a month.
• Perform resets on the road as required.
• Operate on an open-board system for Canada/U.S. long-haul.
• Transport southbound freight from any Bison location into the lower 48 states.
• Transport northbound freight into any Canadian Province or Territory.
• Drive to Alaska if required, 12 months a year.
• Drive in B.C. including Highway 1 and Highway 3, 12 months a year.
• Complete regional freight as required.
• Haul all commodities including meat and alcohol.
• Be available for weekend departures.
• Lift 50 lbs. or more on occasion for driver assist.
