About The Position

This position requires owner-operators to be on the road 7 to 10 days at a time, averaging 10,000 miles per month, and available for dispatch 24 days a month. Resets will be taken on the road as required. The role involves running open-board, Canada/U.S. long-haul, primarily in British Columbia, Alberta, Western U.S., Pacific Northwest U.S., and Central U.S. Southbound freight could depart from any of our Bison locations into any of the lower 48 states. Freight and destinations will vary based on operational requirements. Drivers will be required to drive in B.C., including Highway 1 and Highway 3, 12 months a year. Additional work may be available upon request. Flexible schedules include weekend departures and regional freight. The role requires hauling all commodities, including meat and alcohol.

Requirements

Owner-Operator with 24 months tractor-trailer experience
Tractor must be equipped with a DEF system
Must be U.S. qualified
Minimum of 6 months U.S. driving experience
Minimum of 6 months B.C. mountain experience
Must be able to work weekends
Must have a valid Class 1/AZ License
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more
Must be reliable, flexible, and punctual
Must have strong communication skills
Must value safety
Must be registered with the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse

Responsibilities

Be on the road 7 to 10 days at a time

Operate primarily in British Columbia, Alberta, Western U.S., Pacific Northwest U.S., and Central U.S.
Transport southbound freight from any Bison location into any of the lower 48 states
Haul all commodities, including meat and alcohol
Drive in B.C. including Highway 1 and Highway 3, 12 months a year
Be available for additional work upon request
Handle regional freight
Lift 50 lbs. or more, with driver assist required on occasion
