About The Position

Bison Transport is seeking a dedicated Class 1/AZ Driver for cross-border, short-haul routes primarily operating between Canada (Quebec, Ontario) and the Northeast U.S. (including Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut, Virginia, West Virginia, and Delaware). Drivers can expect to be on the road for an average of 5-7 days at a time, completing approximately 2,300 miles per week, with about 85% of those miles being in the U.S. While drivers are not required to haul into New York City, flexibility is key as destinations may vary to meet customer and freight demands. The role may also involve pulling refrigerated freight and occasional regional freight. Drivers will be supported by a professional trip planning team.

Requirements

Company Driver with 24 months of tractor-trailer experience.
Must be U.S. qualified.
Must hold a valid FAST card.
Minimum of 6 months U.S. driving experience.
Minimum of 6 months Highway 17 experience.
Must be able to work weekends.
Must have a valid Class 1/AZ license.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
Must be reliable, flexible, and punctual.
Must have strong communication skills.
Must be registered with the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.

Nice To Haves

Ability to pull refrigerated freight if available.

Responsibilities

Operate a tractor-trailer on cross-border routes between Canada and the Northeast U.S.
Drive in Quebec, Ontario, and various Northeast U.S. states including Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut, Virginia, West Virginia, and Delaware.
Adapt to varying customer and freight requirements by driving in all designated provinces and states.
Complete an average of 2,300 miles per week.
Be on the road for an average of 5-7 days at a time.
Pull refrigerated freight if available.
Perform occasional regional freight duties.
Assist with driver assist on occasion, which may involve lifting 50 lbs. or more.
Adhere to safety values.
