About The Position

This position requires owner-operators to be on the road for 7 to 14 days at a time, averaging 12,000 miles per month, and available for dispatch 24 days a month. Resets will be taken on the road as required. The role involves running open-board, Canada/U.S. long-haul. Southbound freight could depart from any of our Bison locations into any of the lower 48 states, and northbound freight could go into any of the Canadian Provinces and Territories. Drivers are required to drive in B.C., including Highway 1 and Highway 3, 12 months a year. Additional work may be available upon request. Flexible schedules requiring weekend departures and regional freight will be required. The role involves hauling all commodities, including meat and alcohol.

Requirements

• Owner-Operator with 24 months tractor-trailer experience.
• Tractor must be equipped with a DEF system.
• Must be U.S. qualified.
• Minimum of 6 months U.S. driving experience.
• Minimum of 6 months B.C. mountain experience.
• Must be able to work weekends.
• Must have a valid Class 1/AZ License.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
• Must be reliable, flexible, and punctual.
• Must have strong communication skills.
• Must value safety.
• Must be registered with the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Be on the road 7 to 14 days at a time.

• Take resets on the road as required.
• Run open-board, Canada/U.S. long-haul.
• Transport freight from any Bison location into the lower 48 states.
• Transport freight into any Canadian Provinces and Territories.
• Drive in B.C., including Highway 1 and Highway 3, 12 months a year.
• Be available for additional work upon request.
• Accommodate flexible schedules requiring weekend departures.
• Haul all commodities, including meat and alcohol.
• Lift 50 lbs. or more on occasion.
• Assist drivers on occasion.
