Requirements

  • Owner-Operator with 24 months tractor-trailer experience
  • Tractor must be equipped with a DEF system
  • Must be U.S. qualified
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months U.S. driving experience
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months B.C. mountain experience
  • Must be able to work weekends
  • Must have a valid Class 1/AZ License
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more
  • Reliable, flexible, and punctual
  • Strong communication skills
  • Values safety
  • Registered with the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse

Responsibilities

  • Be on the road 7 to 10 days at a time
  • Average 10,000 miles per month
  • Available for dispatch 24 days a month
  • Resets on the road as required
  • Running open-board, Canada/U.S. long-haul
  • Running primarily in British Columbia, Alberta, Western U.S., Pacific Northwest U.S., and Central U.S.
  • Southbound freight could depart from any of our Bison locations into any of the lower 48 states
  • Freight and Destinations will vary based on operational requirements
  • Required to drive in B.C. including Highway 1 and Highway 3, 12 months a year
  • Additional work might be available upon request
  • Flexible schedules requiring weekend departures
  • Regional freight will be required
  • Must be able to haul all commodities including meat and alcohol
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more
  • Driver assist is required on occasion
