About The Position

BGIS is seeking a Critical Facility Engineer to maintain critical mechanical, electrical, and control systems in a critical-environment facility. BGIS provides integrated real estate management services, including facilities and project management, energy and sustainability services, workplace consulting, real estate services, and capital planning. This role is onsite in Hoover, Alabama.

Requirements

Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems typically used in critical environments.
High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Maintain positive and professional working relationships with internal and external clients.
Respond to customer service requests in a timely manner and respond to emergency calls.
Perform maintenance to help ensure high system efficiency without disrupting business operations.
Complete routine maintenance in accordance with BGIS safety policies and procedures.
Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
Troubleshoot systems and evaluate and recommend system upgrades.
Order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs.
Solicit proposals for outsourced work.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure their work meets BGIS and client standards.
Complete work order requests accurately and on time.
Escalate issues to the Critical Environment Facility Manager as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
