About The Position

The Critical Care Technician (CCT) assists the Registered Nurse with delegated tasks related to the acute care of patients. The CCT provides age-appropriate care in a culturally and ethically sensitive manner and reports to the Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and to the RNs on duty during each assigned shift. Other duties may be assigned. The position is based on the FMF 3rd Floor MCU at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital. The schedule is 0700–1930, with every third weekend and an every-other-holiday rotation.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Complete the Critical Care Tech course or an equivalent within six months of hire.
Successfully complete a skill competency checklist validated by a Registered Nurse.
Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally and in writing.
Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification, or current enrollment in a nursing program with documentation from an accredited school showing successful completion of the basic nursing course meeting Wisconsin administrative code criteria and at least one acute-care medical/surgical nursing clinical rotation.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS), or an AHA-approved equivalent, within 90 days of hire.
