About The Position

The Department of Corrections, Division of Pretrial, Probation and Parole is recruiting for a Criminal Justice Technician 1/2 in Palmer, Alaska. This position is open to Female candidates only. The Criminal Justice Technician position's main focuses are administrative work and offender monitoring/rehabilitative professional support, and assisting offenders toward changing attitudes and behaviors to ensure successful probation/parole compliance. Under general direction, the incumbent performs a variety of paraprofessional work in support of commissioned, certified or other law enforcement professional staff, and performs administrative duties in support of maintaining a functioning office. Job duties include compiling, documenting and verifying information and researching records in preparation for the completion of Court and Parole Board ordered reports, creating and maintaining case files, including entries in a department-specific offender database system, typing and editing documents, supervising a caseload of offenders to perform community work service, and testifying before the court and the Alaska Board of Parole or before the grand jury to provide factual information, testimony, and documentation.
