About The Position

The Department of Corrections, Division of Pretrial, Probation, and Parole is recruiting for a Criminal Justice Technician 1/2 position for the Fairbanks Probation Office located in Fairbanks, Alaska. The successful candidate will aid probation staff in the monitoring of adult defendants reporting to the Department of Corrections. This position is responsible for maintaining records, greeting offenders, filing violation reports, working in law enforcement data base's such as APSIN and ACOMS and conducting urinalyses and portable breath tests. In this role your communication and people skills will be constantly challenged by the ever-evolving criminal justice system. The Department of Corrections, Division of Pretrial, Probation and Parole strives to provide positive change throughout Alaska’s diverse communities by enhancing public safety, assisting the courts with the fair administration of justice for victims and defendants, and providing community supervision that holds defendants accountable, while connecting them to community partners and resources that can provide an individual the tools for long-term change and success. Being a part of the Division of Pretrial, Probation, Parole you are contributing to improve the successful community reintegration of pretrial defendants, probationers, and parolees.
