Crew Chief
About The Position
The Crew Chief is an important member of the management team, working directly with the General Manager to deliver excellent customer service, guide the crew, maintain smooth operations, and grow sales. The role offers training across different jobs, leadership experience, and opportunities for career advancement. Professional automotive experience is not required. The Crew Chief helps lead and develop teammates, supports financial and operational performance, maintains quality and safety standards, and ensures the service center is clean and presentable. The position also involves assisting guests in person, electronically, and by telephone, and carrying out other duties and projects as needed.
Requirements
- One to three years of retail management experience; professional automotive experience is not required.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Proven leadership ability, including the ability to inspire and motivate diverse groups of people.
- Sound business sense and a comprehensive understanding of the retail industry.
- Ability to analyze, comprehend, and recommend financial objectives that help increase sales and service results.
- Positive, helpful attitude and professional conduct and appearance.
- Enjoyment of and energy for a fast-paced, flexible, high-performance retail environment.
- A “Guest First” mindset.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to stand on hard surfaces such as concrete or metal.
- Ability to lift and move work-related items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Responsibilities
- Work with the General Manager to grow revenue through guest count and lead-measure performance, including core sales mix, MultiCare, and Core Plus.
- Coach the team in excellent customer service and create an exceptional guest experience.
- Set a positive leadership example and build team engagement and efficiency.
- Develop teammates through the internal training program and provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and direction.
- Ensure quality control measures and processes are followed consistently.
- Handle duties and projects such as inventory, cash handling, guest issues and concerns, and critical initiatives with the District Manager.
- Assist the General Manager with budgeting, sales forecasts, financial performance, and expense controls.
- Provide clear and detailed direction to the team.
- Ensure the service center is clean, safe, and presentable according to the Guide to Excellence.
- Guide and mentor automotive technicians and customer service advisors.
- Perform opening and closing duties when the General Manager is off.
- Help the General Manager build and maintain an engaged workforce aligned with customer volume and business needs.
- Lead daily team huddles and store meetings to set direction for achieving business goals.
- Manage inventory and product orders to meet business needs.
- Follow and enforce rules and regulations that maintain a safe and productive work environment for teammates and guests.
- Assist guests with questions and needs in person, electronically, or by telephone.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
