About The Position

Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) is seeking a Credit Solutions Associate to help members bring past-due accounts current and safeguard the credit union from unnecessary losses. The associate represents SCCU by providing quality member service and works with delinquent consumer, mortgage, and business loans, excluding legal and bankruptcy accounts. This is a hybrid role based at SCCU’s Melbourne headquarters, with two days per week required in the office. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with rotating Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Requirements

• One to two years of experience in a consumer debt collections or sales environment.
• High school diploma or equivalency.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with vehicle and mortgage collections and loss mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide solutions to bring past-due accounts current and help keep delinquent loans to a minimum, excluding legal and bankruptcy accounts.
• Work consumer, mortgage, business, and other loans.
• Answer inbound calls to the department, make payment arrangements, transfer payments, and research past-due loan problems.
• Send accurate loan error corrections to the Loan Servicing Department.
• Attempt telephone contact with all past-due members, including co-makers, as presented on the predictive dialer.
• Offer delinquency solutions such as payment plans, refinancing, modifications, loan extensions, rewrites, short sales, deeds-in-lieu, or other local programs that may help members bring loans current.
• Send letters to members within established department guidelines.
• Thoroughly document work, including calls, promises to pay, and updates, using the correct action and response codes on the day the action occurs.
