About The Position

At Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU), members are at the heart of the organization’s work. The Credit Solutions Associate I represents SCCU and provides quality service while helping members understand options for bringing past-due accounts current. The role works to preserve and safeguard the credit union from unnecessary loss. It is based at the Miramar Operations Center and is hybrid, with two days per week required in the office.

The associate handles delinquent consumer, mortgage, and business loans, excluding legal and bankruptcy accounts. They communicate with members, research past-due loan problems, arrange payments, document account activity, and identify appropriate solutions to help members address delinquency.

The schedule is Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM, with Saturdays on rotation from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Starting pay is $22.18–$23.48 per hour, with eligibility for one SCCU annual bonus.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of experience in a consumer debt collections or sales environment.
• High school diploma or equivalency required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with vehicle and mortgage collections and loss mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide solutions to bring past-due accounts current, excluding legal and bankruptcy accounts, and help keep delinquent loans to a minimum.
• Work loans including consumer, mortgage, and business loans.
• Answer inbound calls to the department, make payment arrangements, transfer payments, and research past-due loan problems.
• Send accurate loan error corrections to the Loan Servicing Department.
• Attempt telephone contact with all past-due members, including co-makers, as presented on the predictive dialer.
• Offer delinquency solutions such as payment plans, refinancing, modifications, loan extensions, rewrites, short sales, deeds-in-lieu, or other local programs.
• Send letters to members according to established department guidelines.
• Thoroughly document work, including phone calls, promises to pay, and updates, using correct action and response codes on the day the action occurs.
