About The Position

The Creating Conditions for Impact Coordinator is a temporary, three-month role created to provide day-to-day continuity and coordination for the CCI team's active projects during a transition. This position carries substantive postsecondary education expertise, particularly in student support structures such as corequisite support models, and in connecting postsecondary mathematics pathways to workforce development efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Higher Education Leadership, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • 10 or more years experience in postsecondary education, with direct expertise in student support structures, including but not limited to corequisite support and developmental education redesign.
  • Demonstrated experience connecting postsecondary mathematics pathways or student support structures to workforce development efforts.
  • Experience working with state-level agencies, system or institution offices, or other state-level partners on education policy or systems-change initiatives.
  • Experience working as part of a team and coordinating shared work across colleagues, including in the absence of a direct supervisor.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and quickly build working relationships in a fast-paced, transitional environment.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Mathematics Education, Higher Education Leadership, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Experience with national networks or coalitions focused on systemic change across PK-12, postsecondary, and workforce systems.
  • Familiarity with the Dana Center's work, or that of a similar organization, on postsecondary mathematics pathways reform.
  • Experience contributing to funder reports, proposals, or other resource development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day execution of CCI's national initiatives to keep active projects on track during the leadership transition.
  • Support the work of the Systems Engagement for Impact team, helping to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot barriers, and maintain momentum on deliverables.
  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for CCI team members, ensuring clear communication of priorities set by the Director of Systemic Transformation and Director of Building Capacity for Innovation.
  • Work with the project management team to track project timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements, and flag risks or gaps for director-level attention.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise in pathways and student support structures, including corequisite support models and developmental education redesign, to inform the team's ongoing systems-change work.
  • Support the continuation of initiatives that connect postsecondary mathematics pathways and student support structures to workforce development and workforce-readiness efforts.
  • Maintain continuity with active state-level partners (e.g., state agencies, systems offices, policy collaboratives) during the leadership transition.
  • Represent the Dana Center in scheduled meetings, calls, and convenings with state and national partners, keeping directors informed of key developments.
  • Coordinate logistics and follow-up communication for partner engagements and professional network activities.
  • Document current project status, partner relationships, and key decisions to support a smooth handoff to incoming staff.
  • Partner closely with the Director of Systemic Transformation and Director of Building Capacity for Innovation to keep them informed and aligned on team priorities throughout the appointment.

  • The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
