About The Position

Material Handlers transfer material into and out of the production floor using forklifts and overhead cranes. They also assist with returning remnants to inventory. The role includes general housekeeping, recording inventory, and maintaining shop organization and cleanliness. This position works inside and outside.

Requirements

• High school diploma or higher.
• Ability to use measuring tools and read a tape measure.
• Ability to distinguish color variations in stone material.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a manufacturing team environment.
• Good math skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds continuously throughout an 8–12 hour shift.
• Ability to move and carry substantial parts on varied surfaces.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for 8–12 hour shifts.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and overhead crane.
• Ability to follow all safety requirements.

Nice To Haves

• 1–3 years of experience at Lakeside Surfaces, Inc.
• Experience with tracking programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in moving slab material in and out of inventory.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Work with the material handling team to accomplish production results.
• Participate in production studies and improvements to improve efficiency.
• Comply with organizational policies and procedures, including the code of conduct and attendance policy.
• Perform other duties as required by management.
