About The Position

This intern-level position provides practical, hands-on experience in the utility industry under close supervision. The intern will receive challenging assignments, networking opportunities, and the chance to learn from experienced energy industry professionals. The role supports maintenance, repair, inspection, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of single-phase and polyphase meter equipment, while assisting employees with work assignments and related equipment and materials handling.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in a technical field.
• Applicable degree fields include Engineering and Electronics Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Advanced Automation & Robotics Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 2.50 GPA.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance activities to maintain, repair, inspect, install, test, and troubleshoot single-phase and polyphase meter equipment.
• Learn proper use of hand tools, power tools, hoists, drill presses, grinders, and other tools and equipment used in the work.
• Assist employees in carrying out work assignments.
• Clean equipment undergoing repairs and handle and move materials, supplies, and equipment related to the work and work area.
• Learn to make and read simple drawings and sketches.
• Prepare for and take the Edison Electrical Institute (EEI) CAST test, which measures job-responsive aptitude, ability to retain knowledge, and problem-solving skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
