The Oregon Judicial Department (OJD) is seeking a Courtroom Clerk for the Honorable Kara Brooks in Oregon City, Oregon. This is a full-time, limited duration position, funded through June 30, 2027, with potential for continuation based on funding. The role involves providing administrative support to the judge in court, preparing the courtroom, swearing in witnesses, marking and maintaining exhibits, monitoring proceedings, responding to security needs, maintaining audio and electronic records, updating the case management system, and facilitating remote hearings. A key responsibility includes managing juries, which involves drawing, empaneling, and ensuring the transportation and security of jurors. The clerk will also serve as a liaison between jurors, the court, and counsel, and assist attorneys, litigants, and the public with court services and information. Additionally, the position will back up the judicial assistant by preparing files, motions, orders, and judgments, managing the judge’s docket and legal library, retrieving case law, assisting with scheduling and tracking, and reviewing documents for accuracy.
