About The Position
Tony's Fresh Markets is seeking a Courtesy Clerk to provide courteous, respectful customer service by bagging purchased groceries and, when needed, assisting customers with carrying groceries to their vehicles. Clerks must pack bags efficiently while avoiding overloading or damaging produce and other soft items. They are also responsible for bringing shopping carts into the store when cart flow is low, including in varying weather conditions, and should come prepared for the weather. Other duties may be assigned or required. The position is in a typical retail-store environment, with noise ranging from quiet to loud and minimal sitting. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and available to work weekends and holidays. Store hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. The stated hourly pay scale is $15.00–$20.10. Individual pay within the range is determined by location and factors including relevant skills, work experience, education, and training. Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Highly organized, with keen attention to detail.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Able to handle lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting while handling products or using equipment.
- Able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Regularly able to stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store.
Responsibilities
- Bag customers' purchased groceries efficiently and carefully, maximizing bag space without overloading or damaging produce and soft items.
- Assist customers with carrying groceries to their vehicles when needed, providing respectful customer service without accepting tips.
- Bring shopping carts into the store when cart flow is low, including in varying weather conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
