About The Position

The Courtesy Clerk offers prompt customer service, assists throughout the entire store, and answers customer questions, whether face-to-face or by phone. This role helps customers locate products in the store and maintains a positive company image by providing a courteous and efficient customer service experience. The Courtesy Clerk supports the management team in maintaining exceptional standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, floor and parking lot maintenance, bagging, price checks, and returning merchandise to its proper location.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
6 months of work experience.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal abilities.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Stamina and multitasking ability.
Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
Ability to lift and/or move items over 25 pounds frequently.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb continuously.
Ability to move quickly from parking lot to check stand area during peak business hours.
Manual dexterity skills and good eye-hand coordination.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, but efficient, and safe manner.
Requires exposure to varying weather conditions for performance of indoor/outdoor duties.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual: Spanish, Armenian, Tagalog, Russian, Arabic, or Farsi.
Some college credits in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Acknowledge, greet, and engage customers upon entry.
Assist customers with product location, bagging orders, and providing carry-out service.
Maintain cleanliness of the store, including mopping floors, dusting, and arranging product shelves neatly.
Ensure an adequate supply of bags at check stands.
Verify prices and return merchandise from check stands to the appropriate areas.
Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot, stack them in an orderly fashion, and ensure they are free of debris.
Follow daily work schedules and adhere to attendance and tardiness guidelines.
Assist cashiers by moving between check stands based on customer flow.
Work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced environment.
Perform cleanup duties in aisles, bathrooms, and other departments.
Accept supervisory coaching and function as a team player.
Follow all safety rules and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
