About The Position

The Courtesy Clerk is a friendly, responsible team player who helps provide excellent customer service throughout the front end of the store. The role includes bagging groceries, collecting shopping carts, keeping the store and restrooms clean, and assisting customers with their shopping. Team members should be comfortable working independently and at a fast pace, maintain attention to detail, and contribute to a memorable customer experience.

Requirements

• Friendly and customer-service oriented.
• Self-motivated, with strong attention to detail, quality, and presentation.
• Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.
• Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to read, understand, and follow verbal and written directions.
• Able to reliably meet the required work schedule and adhere to the company attendance policy.
• Must be 18 years of age, or 16 years of age with a valid work permit.
• For internal transfer or promotion candidates: no disciplinary action during the past six months.

Responsibilities

• Bag customers’ groceries neatly and orderly.
• Verify prices for cashiers when necessary.
• Collect shopping carts from the parking lot and assist customers with groceries to their cars.
• Maintain a cheerful and helpful attitude toward customers and other team members.
• Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the store and restrooms.
• Assist with “go backs” and accompany customers to locate items throughout the store.
