The Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger bags groceries at checkout, assists customers with their merchandise and loading, maintains store cleanliness and safety, and supports customers and store operations. Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout, aiming for at least five items per bag while preventing damage to items.
• Use best practices when bagging in reusable, plastic, and paper bags.
• Assist with removing customers’ merchandise from the bottom of the bascart for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills and collect and pick up trash inside the store and in the parking lot.
• Clean areas inside and outside the store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Learn the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Follow safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues, notifying store management.
• Follow food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate department or store manager of items needing repair.
• Welcome customers and answer questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
• Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Handle customer and business information honestly and with integrity.
